Comunication - 06 - 15 - 2007

Comunication to all of you attending to view the streaming version.

The page that some of you was able to view yesterday was taken offline for technical difficulties. The traffic capacity of the server we tested wasn't able to handle the high request of people at the same time, the video quality though was still satisfactory.

In order to avoid a the server to go down we ask your patience. It is impossible for legal reasons to pubblish a download of the movie, it for this reason that we are trying to avoid to take the video offline from the streaming access.

As enthusiasm exploded and affection given for the level where the movie reached to (we must not forget that the short was originally set to be a 10 minute length clip) we found our selves unprepared in front of the amount of viewers wanting to connect to an HD version of the movie well deserved to be viewed.

We want to take advantage of this also to thank the creators of the newly born forum of Dark Resurrection darkresurrection.forumcommunity.net that with so much unexpected affection they are supporting us and are spreading their enthusiasm, and we invite you to visit it ;)

Thank you from our hearts to you all:

Premieres Dark Resurrection - 04 - 30 - 2007

It is our duty to answer all the hundred of emails that we receive that for now are still without replies.

The question is always the same... when is the movie ready?

Today we can finally say that the movie is completed.
Episode 1 of the project 'Dark Resurrection' was mixed last week in Dario Mollo's mixing studio (Damage Inc. Studio).
We are at this time moving to realize several national premieres in the most important cities that will precede for obvious reasons the release in streaming.

The completed movie is 60 minutes long. Even if the audio renders fairly good, for streaming we scheduled version 2.0 quite dignifying for this purpose and, if ever the strength will come, one day the second part of the movie will be a completed movie possibly of 2 hours or more.

Wednesday, May 2nd the movie will be presented at the opening of the festival of X-Science in Genoa a premiere with a work-in-progress copy; showing unfortunately reserved for a limited number of spectators as only 150 seats are available.

We apologize for having gone through far in the timing for the release bur we reassure you that it was not dependant on us. Shortly we will give you more indications on the movie theatres that will show for free the premiere of Dark Resurrection.

May the FORCE BE WITH YOU

On Friday, March 16th we met Claudio Sorrentino again in his dubbing studios in Rome. With professionalism and passion Claudio dedicated some of his time to record the narrator's voice that will describe the initial events in the opening scenes of DR. The last cut … New Updates - 10 - 10 - 2006

New images from the BACKSTAGE and the new 'Press Review' with consistent updates that contains some of the articles and specials that the media dedicated to Dark Resurrection.

Last Cut... - 27 - 09 - 2006

The last shooting has finished for Dark Resurrection.
The prologue of the movie, last shot for obvious logistic problems.
The chosen location was the Roman ruins in Ventimiglia. The ancient theatre was transformed for the occasion in the place where Master Sorran was judged and condemned. For this session of shootings, due to the high amount of extras (about 70) and the necessity to shoot with long views it was needed to have a more professional movie camera.

The excellent Andrea Pizzi, on top of being our camera operator, he gave to our usage a Canon xl2 as well as his Steady Asapi, of his invention. Thanks also to the availability of the director Federico Lagna, for the first time since the beginning of the shootings we were able to use a second unit.
This allowed us to shoot 47 scenes in few hours.

For this scene, due to a tight schedule, it was necessary to plan the shootings with great precision. Thanks to Andrea Scibilia - who worked with the director Angelo Licata for the script and the revisions of the screenplay - and to his brother Alessandro Scibilia,, an extremely detailed storyboard was created, so well laid to the point that it's like reading a fascinating comic book. This scene has also other exceptions compared to the rest of the shootings.

We only need to cite some of the actors that interpreted the characters, the director and actor Enzo Aronica, who played as Master Aron, Riccardo Leto, who played "Saddam", the beautiful Giorgia Wurth, announcer of RaiTre, who played a mysterious council member, and Jackie one of the most beautiful voices (and faces) of Radio Monte Carlo. A special recognition also goes to Maestro Fabrizio Brezzo, who gave us the honor to follow an appearance beside Leto and Aronica.

A special thanks goes to all the (many) people that helped us, we only mention a few for space reasons: Paola Tiezi (tired less Production Secretary), Diego Marangon (who directed amazingly all the extras), the make-up artists Anna Olivo and Vita Mazzoferro on behalf of Salon Service of Vallecrosia, the Endas and Porta Marina associations, the counselor Gianluca de Lucia and the Superintendent of Cultural Goods who made this experience possible.

But the biggest recognition goes to the Jedi counsel, created thanks to the extras coming from all around Italy, whom didn't even get any travel expense!

Thank You to every one, from the heart, for your passion that you had in participating, you were all amazing in any cut!

May the force be with you... always!

The Warriors of the set - 18- 08 - 2006

Master Zui Mar (Maurizio Zuppa) and Lord Valek (Simone Casile) are currently busy in training sessions along with true and real "warriors" of the set, people of the levels and especially kindness of Buster Reeves stunt and director of choreography World Champion Ju-Jitsu combat, that replaces Tom Cruise in highly risky scenes. It's his Achilles jump when he kills the soldier with the lances from Troy. Student of Keysi in a picture beside Zui Mar (Maurizio Zuppa).

Lord Valek (Simone Casile)
has been immortalized together with Andy Norman and Justo Dieguez as the two "brothers" founders of the KFM Keysi fighting method, official method used in Batman Begins and Mission impossible 3.
Andrea Pizzi and DR - 17- 08 - 2006

The director Andrea Pizzi, inventor of the first Italian steadycam ASApi has joined the staff of Dark Resurrection and will be the operator for the sequence that will be shot September 24th in the ruins of the Roman Theatre in Ventimiglia.

Andrea has just finished his short movie
"Il cuore rivelatore" (The heart revealer).
To know more: New era project.

Claudio Sorrentino and DR - 25- 07 - 2006

Claudio Sorrentino, international well renown dubber, voice here in Italy for Mel Gibson and John Travolta as well as Director for dubbing of many famous movies, will take over the dubbing for Trailer B of Dark Resurrection, that will be distributed online at the end of September in a special version. As well Sorrentino will be the narrator voice of few sequences of Dark Resurrection. To have on our side such a professionist of his caliber will certainly give us great enthusiasm to finish this hard project of Post Production that is coming up soon.
Given the non-profit nature of the project, the great sympathy and availability of Sorrentino, we feel obliged to thank him of this online.

From all the staff of Dark Resurrection, Grazie CLAUDIO!

Casting last shoot! - 22- 07 - 2006

In the afternoon of Sunday, September 24th the last sequence of DR will be shot.
We have decided to leave this scene for last, even if it will be the first to appear in the movie, for logistic reasons.
Many extras in costumes will be needed for this scene. To be able to participate it is necessary a good presence and an age between 20 and 70.The biggest difficulty that we are facing is to collect all the costumes for each extra. For this reason, everyone that shows up at the casting with a ready-to-use costume or on-the-works-costume will be ahead of the others.

For casting, send picture and personal information to the following e-mail
lucebianca@gmail.com

The shooting will take place in the ruins of the Roman Theatre in Ventimiglia (IM) in collaboration with the cultural clubs of Endas Nervia and Porta Marina.

Last shootings for the staff of DR - 31- 05 - 2006

His and Hope...
From the last sessions at the set of DR we introduce some moments captured from Sara and Davide's lens.
Some of the most tough scenes and clips outside the set described through the images to tell the story of one of the last moments before the summer break, where the actors will leave their place to the magical hands of LOI and to the staff of DR where it will lead to the Post Production.

The heat has started to hit us heavily but it won't stop the enthusiasm, all packed up and once arrived on location the costumes are worn, shooting has started and we've forgot the scorcing sun!

The art of the Matte Painting - 05- 05 - 2006

The frames that we are showing arrive directly from Post Production of DR, and are a result of the joint work effort of Davide Bigazzi, Paolo Pinto, Diego Lupano and Gianni Melito.

Gianni Melito (author of the first frame) is the main person on the compositing and Matte Painting. His first job for LOI was the creation of a backdrop of the ruins of Eron (we cannot show you the final work as per request by the director), an immense amount of galactic ship relics outside the acid Sea of Eron. Gianni describes some passages of his work:

The job given to me was to realize a backdrop for the ruins of Eron's scene. It's a key scene for the movie, rendering a backdrop believable that will then be utilized in a scene with no FX and real actors is a very tough challenge. One of the ruins is a gigantic space ship that fell in the sea thousands of years ago. Basically it was about creating the back part of the spaceship that has super sized reactors and to show the wear of time on it, like the creation of types of vegetation or the deteriorating of materials. I started from the plain ship that was modeled and created in Lightwave. After this, placed the various objects inside the spectrum so I started to paint it utilizing Photoshop and a Wacom graphic table.

Starting from the base colors and illumination I continued by defining the materials, the vegetation, and all the necessary particulars to create a believable atmosphere. As a final touch it was the time for some color corrections and to add weather effects such as fog and light beams, to reach a realistic level that was acceptable.

In regards to the compositing, lately I am taking care of adding the laser swords in some fighting scenes thanks to the Adobe "After Effects" package.

Promotional Photo 5 - 10- 04 - 2006

The last seven promotional images that we show you will be different from the others seen this far, we will show you four of the digital creations totally created by the genius mind of Davide Bigazzi, who designed them, created them, textures them and animated them. A titanic job that only a superficial view can be seen. Just think about that all the miniatures have detailed interiors, mobile parts and animated parts and hundreds of lights. In appearance order the "SILENT RAGE", Lord Drown and Lord Sorran's ship, was freely inspired from Darth Maul's ship seen in Episode I. Follows the "TEMPLE OF ERON" that is well shown integrated on the deep cliffs hanging on the sea that is in Ventimiglia. The interiors of this temple are on two levels where one of them is one hundred meters under the sea level.

The "LIGTH CROW" is the ancient ship that the Jedi’s will utilize to reach Eron, this miniature was built on a precise request by the director, based on the "Otana" family ship, Correllian ship that appeared in the "Alliance" Videogame. The "NAGAS STAR" is the battalion station of Sorran where inside the prologue of the movie will take place. Even if it's seen briefly, Davide built it in the minimum details. Some words on the characters, the maestro Fabrizio Brezzo "Master Zeb" who gave us an appearance in the movie, even if his role within DR is of a major weight. We will right entirely an article dedicated to him very soon.

The beautiful Valentina Beghello who plays Keila, the seducing companion of Lord Drown, and finally Diego Marangon (Captain Marago) great theatrical actor, that other than playing the Imperial, with his experience he helped us in the last shootings.

As expected the movie trailer will see the light at the end of September, and most probably won't be the only.

Trials to participate at the Short
The shootings will re-commence in two weeks with a key scene to be shot with the green screen. We are opening a hope for all the people that wrote to us asking to participate. One of the last scenes will be shot in a month and a half inside the Jedi Temple, and many Jedi’s of all ages will be there to participate to the counsel. The location was not yet confirmed, but will be here in the Region of Liguria. If you have a believable costume, the right face and you would like to be there, send us one or more pictures where you wear the costume and a description of your self to this address: lord.atilak@gmail.com
